As a Carrier Sales Specialist, you will collaborate with the Customer Management Team to secure tailored capacity solutions for a variety of customer needs. You will work to maximize safety, service, and overall value by forging great relationships with the carriers and communicating with your team members. The Carrier Sales Specialist will maintain accurate Carrier Files using the proper procedures and software. You’ll promote the values of the organization and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide capacity procurement services by developing productive working relationships with transportation providers
  • Solicit and maintain outside carrier capacity to fulfill client requests
  • Negotiate rates with outside carriers to support margin goals
  • Book, manage and execute freight offerings with transportation providers
  • Maintain a high level of outbound call volume
  • Administer carrier profiles, compliancy and tariffs
  • Resolve carrier complaints to ensure vendor satisfaction
  • Assist Customer Service Representatives and Logistics Managers whenever and however needed
  • Meet or exceed set employee Key Performance Indicators

Qualifications:

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • 2-4 years transportation or logistics experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
  • Growth and Results oriented; desire to be in leadership/management position
  • Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others
  • Excellent systems knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite programs and internet
  • Ability to multi task in fast paced environment
  • Analytical problem solver
